does anyone here use maya to model cars?
well, i guess i can't really help you on that matter. i'm usually doing game models, so my doorlines get textured on.
i've got an idea of what to do though.
in the pic, the top part is what you have from teh side view of your doorline.
the lower pic is like a profile from the top. basically just have a V shape for the doorcut. the rows on either side of the V are there for smoothing purposes.
all this will require is that you use the split polygon tool a bit to get the rows in there. after that you can just move the center row towards the middle of the car a little and that should work out.
