Thanks again for all the replies - your posts are certainly making me want to see this through to the end.
pim.: It's actually quite funny - the reason I started this model was to have a place to display the wheel and rims I had modelled (all modern alloys)
However, since starting, I think I want to go for the 'authentic' Golf look and might do some different rims for it. What I don't want to do is 'tune' the car and have bling bling rims
Once I have some shaded renders, maybe you could advise me on which model it's best suited to, and what details should be added....
