Poor quality reference planes
I'll start right away by saying I'vedone a search and read the FAQ already but I don't fully understand what I need to do.
I've cut up that print of the F430 (As I've selected that for my 5 week project) and such keeping as close to the car as I can but when I apply it to a plane the same resolution as the image it is all blurry and pretty much unusable.
The FAQ said to keep the size to a square of two so I used the closest examples to my sizes and resized the attribute that was closest, so I didn't distort the image. This still resulted in crappy blurred images. One suggestion I got was to switch to OpenGL so I tried that, still the same. I only did either H or W as the FAQ was unclear, it just said 'texture resolution'.
I've tried smaller sized ones too so I know it's not because these particular images are large.
I'm obviously missing something as everyone else seems to get nice clear ones, or at least not as bad as what I end up with.
I've tried other formats as well as BMP (TIF and GIF) and it's no different.
So, do I have to resize the canvas to have both values to the square of two (that's a short problem I'll get into next)? Just one like I've been doing? Is it something entirely seperate again or is it just something I have to live with because maybe my rig sucks?
The small problem is that I've not taken maths in years and years (maybe 6) and was never any good at or interested in it anyway and haven't done squares and stuff last since I was like 9, 10 or 11 (I'm 22). So this may sound ridiculous but I can't even remember what a square of 2 is. Are they the ones that are numbers divisible by themselves or something else? It doesnt matter as I know I was never good with them and even if it were numbers divisible by themselves I don't really know how to work out the right numbers or anything.
So with that in mind I was wondering if someone could just tell me what sizes I should be doing if I give the dimensions of the images? Or I guess you can just explain it further if that's easier.

I'm going to bed now, I'm tired from trying and my eyes hurt.
Thanks.
