you'll get a half-and-half objection from me.

On the one hand, I love the idea of having such a tutorial concept as this...
but on the other hand...

...

it seems like, and this is just my opinion, it might be better off to have a tutorials section. Rather than having a tutorials subsection tucked away under donations and requests... why not just make an all-out Tutorials section? There could be a sticky/announcement that would show up in any sub-forum, which would give the naming conventions for the threads... such as "Video - Blueprint box setup (3dsmax)"

and then the subforums would be categories

so basically, my vision of what would be 'cool' is:

  • Salvage Area
    • Salvaged Messages
  • Main Site
    • News and Events
    • Announcements
  • VIP Access
    • Work In Progress VIP
    • General Discussion VIP
    • General Chat
    • Test
  • Discussion
    • General Discussion
    • Car Discussion
    • Offtopic Discussion
    • Donations and Requests
  • Work Area
    • Work in Progress
    • Rendering
    • Finished Work
    • Background-Sized
    • Contest Forum
  • Reference
    • Costume
    • Environment
    • Vehicle
    • Textures and Materials (moved from Donations and Requests)
  • Tutorials
    • Video Tutorials (moved from Donations and Requests)
    • Animation
    • Character
    • Environment
    • Rendering
    • Texturing
    • Vehicle
    • Plug-in Specific
    • Tutorial Requests
  • Downloads
    • Unfinished Projects for Download
    • Vehicles
    • Parts Upload
  • ETC.
(The bold items are changed or new)

This would do the trick, right? Rather than having one thread which would get so large it's unusable?

--I say unusable because for some reason, the search function only seems to display threads that contain your search term(s) ... I haven't ever been able to actually pull the individual post where it actually found that word being used. Maybe I'm just missing something. But if that's actually the case, then I certainly would hate to search a never-ending thread for something that's only mentioned once within it.

But yeah, that's just what I think would be cool to have. Not sure everyone's up for moving around all that stuff, and having so many new sections like that though
