buying a laptop for performance reasons, so to speak for gaming and such, is definately not something i would do. you will get way better performance in a desktop machine for the same money. i would buy a laptop because, let's say, i would be using it for work and i would have to be able to take it around with me.

but then again it's your money your spending...

And I want this laptop instead of a PC cause I know I could get a better PC system for the same price but than without any screen or any other cool features that improves gaming quality. And what's the point of buying a PC with a Quad Core and dual 8800 GT if you can't use that power ?
well then don't buy the quad core yet... i'm sure the prices will drop until the time you said, so have a look then... planning half a year in advance doesn't really make much sense imo. also take a look at the Samsung SyncMaster 226BW, here in germany they are **** cheap but still really good.

but this is just an example... you can still get a very good machine for your budget if calculate the monitor too.

but i will say this again. planning a half year in advance as to what you will buy then is just pointless... the prices will change a LOT until then, so just wait until you have the money at hand and then get some proper advice
