Now you can't simply claim that highpoly is actually easier than lowpoly. Both require skill, it's just the matter of taste and dedication which one you'll go for. Both have benefits and minuses and there are many arguments for applying either one in modeling.
There are number of methods in highpoly for which it's much more suitable for modeling, but the same thing is with lowpoly.
You shouldn't compare these two so easily because you do know how hell modeling can be highpoly and I know you all can confirm this
Again, it's about taste, so it doesn't matter in which way you model.
