My settings must be screwed upsome where if they take so long. ok given I don't have a dou core processor, but still with a fastest p4 with 1 gig ram it shouldn't take that long.
I've be surfing the web all day at work trying to find a good setting for my vray, got one from cgarchitect.com and another from aversis.com. I hope I can get something right with them.
By the way would thing work more in my favour if I get a newer version from 3d max (like version 8 or 9)as well as vray 1.5?

Hello! Long time no see everyone!
Well, Im back up, and soon I will post my latest designproject for you all, a VOLVO plug-in hybrid only 2,5 - 3,0 long

. (yes, it can turn 2,5 and 3,0 long)
So, Dimaknight, I had exactly the same issues as you a time a go. Your settings are not
screwed up if you want that size and quality.
I worked on a similar speced pc from 2005 - 2007, It is slow...... (Now - MacBookPro)
You said you had the highest resolution max could give you, WHY?? 4.000 * 4.000 or more? 300 dpi? Try out something friendlier for your machine 1440 * 900. 150dpi. for test..
Then put your settings to High. And use whatever other settings you want..
Do you have much lightning in your scene? More than 3 vray light planes?
3 hours with the specs on you pc are not far from the truth!
1gbRAM are not much for rendering!
3Dmax 8 and Vray 1.5 might increase your speed with a few seconds, but not that much..
