I really enjoyed ProStreet on PC. It looked great, it played really well. It felt a bit short and many of the cars weren't my style, but there were a few gems.
Really, the reason I enjoyed it so much was because I frequent trackdays with my boyfriend and he and I both adore the game for how accurately, albeit ham-handedly, captures the feeling of pre-race jitters and then the balls-to-the-floor racing.
The tracks weren't great, but it was still fun. It was cute how the DJs would communicate over the PA system like at a real track.
Comments and criticisms were made about the amount of in-game advertising, but it didn't bother me in the least. The track a few blocks away from my house looks just like that. There are billboards for car parts, oil, manufacturers, aftermarket stores... Everywhere. Tracks actually look like that
All in all it was quite an enjoyable game, but, very sadly, the new title which'll be announced in July will return the Most Wanted style of free-roaming and open worlds.
There's just one thing left to say about it for me... I had friends who used to run in the illegal street races but they've all opted for legal drags and the open circuits at the tracks since their are sponsorship opportunities and you won't get hounded by the cops. I don't miss the open world. The progression from illegal street racing to legal circuit racing was a good move in my eyes.
