Yes, you have to do a workaround...
Try this: count the tread-parts of your tire and create only one of it! Than use Polar-Array to get it X-times. Create a "basic-surface" (yellow thing in the picture, use rvolve-command) and cut your tread-piece in it. Now you can select 1/4 of your pieces (for example) in one step.
Rhino sometimes has problems to handle a huge amount of pieces at one time.
