Rendering time too long...

Hey me again lol...

I have a slight problem im guess many people have it. I was rendering a car and i for the 1st time it looks good as i made some realy nice paints and i made a nice scene too i could render that quite quickly but when i added some shaddow and light options, it took about 15 mins +.

Is there anyway i any speed this up as i know many people use mental ray and vray, do them programs speed anything up?

Thanks

There is no usch thing as too much time to render
If you want it to be under 15 adjust you shadow and light setting so there is less of it, the more light and shadow increase's render time.
I have read about one render that had a slight light change where the render time went from 23 mins to 7 hours.
I could be mistaken but I think cpu power also affects render time.
Basically the better you want the render, the longer it will take

15 Minutes is nothing
Some renders take several hours.. So as long as your renders are below 2 hours, I don't think you should worry

Well, ofcourse, if you're doing renders like this in 15 minutes.. you can complain
But renders like these just take a lot longer..

wow I'm glad my longest render till now only took 15 mins... also had alot of lights and shadow and a high poly model in the scene. I would probably think that after 30 mins the program just frooze lol

lol so it doesnt realy depend on the program or plugins used like vray.. it depends on the cpu usage i allways thought it was somthing diffrent.
