messed up

something went wrong with my materials. They used to work just fine but suddenly it's all messed up. Anyone knows what causes it? Or it's about my render setings? In viewport everything looks ok.

Here's the pic (the render)..

I had some weird artifacts while rendering my reflections, which were due to objects being reflected not having certain uvw map coordinates set...

another thing, your mesh might be corrupted. Take your object, dump the turbosmooth, and reset the x-forms. convert to editable mesh, and export as .3ds. delete the model from the scene and save out a new file with just the reference planes. Now close max out, and reopen it and the new max file you just saved out, and import the mesh you exported, and just to be on the safe side, select all vertices and weld them, with the threshold at .001. Now reset the xforms of the model again, and convert to editable poly or whatever you normally work with, and see if the materials look okay again.

hopefully one of those is the issue.

if you're using anything but the default scanline renderer, there might be other settings that I'm completely unfamiliar with going on here
