I noticed that if I still got "box" or "cilinder" in my modifier stack it always assigns the material to the whole object.
when you're done moddelling it, collapse the stack (before putting turbosmooth or meshsmooth on it) and use the edit mesh or edit poly like Xoliul said. Then after that add a turbo smooth or meshsmooth, to your liking... ![]() ![]() |

i think its turning black because of the DGS materials...try doing it with a standard red material and a standard white material first
