two thing could have happened,

it could be a gf problem, try updating video card drivers, or even goin back an update sometimes work.

or you could have an error in the max file it self.

it most likely to be a gf problem

that would make sense, becuase i have been having problems with this video card. So i ordered a new one, and it should be here today or tomorrow. So if I install the new one, the problem should go away? And if not then my drawing is screwed...lol?

i am not saying it will go away, but from wat i have seen with those types of problems it normaly video card driver related, or if the gf card is overclocked and cant handle it anymore

since it appears that the erroneous mesh is being rendered out as still erroneous, I would say your max file got slightly corrupted.

Select the object, Reset Xforms, export to .3ds, close max

open max, import the 3ds, delete the junk areas, weld any open vertices, reset x-forms, and save as a new file. Close max.

Open max, then open your file you saved out... then start over again on the parts that got messed up
