Headlight Glass
Hey guys I'm trying to get realism with the headlight I modeled. There must be a setting in the materials I used for the headlight with VRay that I didn't set correctly. For some reason the headlight has a blurry/grainy texture. The headlight glass is just a plane so it doesn't have actual thickness to it. Does the glass need to have thickness to look real? Here is the image:

yes, i think you need the thickness, because of the index of refraction...im not an expert but im almost sure about this...

What I do for glass is:
1. Get a VrayMat 2. Make the "Refraction" color to, depending on what glass it. white = completely clear and black = can't see through. 3. Here, you need to do some test renders and see how to change the gloss and reflections to what looks right. Very simple material, but works great. Hope that helps. |
