Need help Modelling

Hi,

So yea, For a couble days I have been trying to model an AE86 but since I have really no experience with modelling by blueprints as guides, it's kinda hard for me to work with. So here's what I have done in the past couble days (shown in figure 1) So anyways, I have a few questions about the whole process. For doing what I have done in Figure 1, I have been using planes and using Editable Mesh to move it's vertexs' around to the correct points. Is that the correct way to modelling it? Or are there other methods? Since planes are kinda hard to work with. Can you guys point out some tuturials online to demonstrate the other methods. Since I'm using planes, the surfaces are practically paper thin, how can I give it thickness like for example, a smooth thickness on a hood.

Thanks

well you know you should be modeling using editable poly,it has more options which are easier to work with. But as we always say around hee There is no RIGHT way to model. But most people use this "poly" method. Its what i use and i have to say i get all the results i want out of it.This tutorial is for box mdoeling but it covers everything you cant go wrong with it.

its at here http://www.cg-cars.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15

Thats a really good site too, like it. Its gota be the best tutorial for car modelling I have ever seen.

Im going to start my escort again tomorrow to see if it will be easier to model using box modelling instead of using planes.

Really like it.
