just bought 3d max whats the best way to learn how to use it?
I have had a play with some tutorials from the net and so far so good but there does seem to be an awfull lot to it. By the way the pics on this site are really quite something.

Yes I thought that would be the case. I have found some really great tutorials on this site. I will start with the basics then work upto a nice simple car. If I get on well I will attempt my ultimate goal which is to make a model of our dennis fire engine.

trial and error is best way to learn; you wont learn all the tools and things; but you can get fairly good at modeling; i've taught myself everything i've ever modeled

you'll be surprised how far you can go from just starting to half a year to a full year; i've only been using it for just over a year now and .. its a pretty big surprise if you look at my original stuff to now
