i'm making rims, and when i make a tube, it turns out to be all tri-polies when i want quad-polies. how do i change it?

try to press f2

that's because the tube is a basic primitive. Set the size/segments you want, and then convert it in Editable poly/mesh. That'll bring your quads back

there is an option u can select all quads or tris display in the viewports prefrences try those !
