Need serious help with bumpers

I'm having a lot of problems with bumper...mainly the front since i haven't tried a rear. My problem is the no matter how I chamfer it always ends up really circular after meshsmooth. I've been playing around with it for a while now, trying different ways of chamfering and even after putting three rows of chamfering and trying different values it shows no difference. Anyone have any tips or a good tutorial that they know of that does the bumper in detail. I'm mostly looking to do the everyday cars, not the exotics...which is what i've been finding most tutorials of and those are too roundish and made for aerodynamics. I'm looking to do the old boxy cars such as the old civic and integras.

Thanks in advanced

to maintain the squary shape you have to not only chamfer the outer edges but the dragged back edges.. check attachment..
the first is probably what you have been doing, only chamfering outa edges.. second shows the edges that need 2 b chamfered to maintain the shape.

I think marty-bett has it. It's looking like the first picture. I'll give that method a try and let you know how it goes. Thanks

When you chamfer, do you get something like this happening where it's not straight?

I try to adjust it straight but keep ending up with the black shadows showing when theres a problem with the mesh.

Or its this part that could be messing it up too. When i chamfer the insides it makes a triangle behind it

its because u have 5 sided polys around and then the chamfer follows that line and creates an uneven chamfer.. check attached and add in the red lines before u chamfer so u get rid of the 5 sided polys and when you chamfer it will be an even chamfer..

Also wen u chamfer this time, chamfer the outer edges first, then the inner edges.. when you chamfer the outer u will get tris on the corners of the 2 lines of chamfer.. weld the 2 verticies together on the same line so its just a edge not a tri.. include that new edge in the chamfer of the inner edges..
