Normals Question
Hey all,
I've been rendering with Max for quite a few years but have only started modeling things within the last year or so.. Question I have is: I see lot's of posts where people will state "your normals are really messed up" or "normals problems are causing wavy reflections", etc. Could someone please explain what these types of comments mean in plain english terms? Does "messed up normals" mean like one poly is facing one direction and another the opposite direction? Appreciate any help or comments on this. yeah, a polygons "normal" is simply the direction its facing, when people say theyre messed up or causing reflection problems, it usually just means they arent pointing the right direction (even being just a little bit off can make reflections go funny)

OK, thanks IC.... that's what I thought, just wanted a little clarification from someone more experienced in modelling. Much appreciated!
