Can this be done?

Can a 3d view be created with a flattened jpeg image? Someone has given me a jpeg of a completely flattened image and wants to know if it can be made into a 3D image.

yes you can do everything in 3d and you can use this picture as your blueprints

just gotta set up the 3d camera exactly like the camera in the original photograph, and then create your scene using the camera as the reference point for how large to make objects.

If you want more detail, this kind of process is usually described in certain visual effects magazines and other publications...

i think he means making a 3D face from a single picture for example.

actually yes this can be done, i remember seeing some impressive videos on youtube where this technique was applied

Yea i think i seen the same vid with like a train or something, but it was with a different program not 3dsmax.
