this is a good start, even though u havnt started modelling the car yet i'll give you some advice: try to keep it low poly if your a beginner, its easier to deal with the edges and vertices that way

well after much messing around i attempted the "box" model method, but after a while of trying to decipher the lines and such i decided to just delete my progress and start fresh.

ugh.

aight, so i've started to tinker with 3Ds Max 9 and i'm really really enjoying this program, so after messing around with it some more, i've decided to tackle something fairly easy...

i wanted to do the front bumper, but then realized that might be a little much for me, so i tackled the hood. I did 1 half of it and figured i'd just mirror over my progress.

and here it is

altho i need to figure out how to fill in the space between the 2 hood halves 8o

anyway, any suggestion, comments are welcome!

For filling up the space, I would use a Symmetry modifier. It automatically mirros the half and welds them together from the middle

oh and how come sometimes when i modify a vertex it'll only let me move it a certain way?? like sometimes i can move it side to side, but not up and down, and then sometimes it'll move up and down, but not side to side??

weird?
