Fails to initialize - SMCars

so my problem is... i bought a new computer (particularly to model with) but my 3dsmax wont initialize... the version i installed was 3ds max 9 (the new one 32-bit version ... since i have windows vista 32-bit version)... it says it fails to initialize when i try to open it.

any ideas on how to fix this without changing operating systems?

try the patch

hmmm, interesting... now vista is saying my user account doesnt have sufficient rights to install the patch... when my vista account is the admin of the comp... (starts to hate vista)

Have you selected the install exe to read as admin.

thanks for the patch... fixed it

... all i had to do was reboot the comp for the patch to be able to be installed
