I have a 3DS file that was given to me of an H1 Hummer. I do not know much about 3DS at all, all I basically do is views models. Could someone on here change the color of it to the sand color for me? I will gladly share the model with anyone who is willing to do this for me. I can even attach the file here if need be.

If you just need colored model in viewport you can color it by yourself very simply:

Press M to open Material Editor, choose a slot and apply it to the model by dragging it onto a mesh or pressing (with mesh previously selected). Then just change the Diffuse color and that's it!
