Create stitches
Does anyone know some tricks to create some nice stitches? I mean you can do it with bump map, displacement, opicaty and what you can think of. But does anyone has a good tip for me? I'm starting with interior now and i came to stitches and i don't know a proper answer.
Thanks in advance |

The best looking ones I ever saw are from Orb on his Porsche Carrera GT. There was a thread on CGCars, not sure if it's still there. Some pics a bit of googling gave me :

Maybe you can try to reach to ask for informations, I think he will help you. I really don't know / don't remember how he did them. I also saw (here I think) fully modeled stitches, it's like fully modeling a tire sidewall : it take loooooong ! ![]() ![]() Currently project : Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster Previous : Marcos 1800 GT (60's winner), Ariel Atom II (LightIsRight winner), SuperSeven (WZA #4) See my work and my tutorials on www.thomasbaron.net |
