Porsche 911 Turbo V.S. Aston Martin V12 Vanquish

Hey guys, a friend of mine and I started a competition on designing a car in 3D. This is our first time using the 3DSMAX program. We were given 30days to learn the program and cough up a car. So it would be appreciated if you guys can vote. All comments are welcomed. =)

To tell you the truth the Aston Martin looks like its made out of Jelly will all the bumps and lumps. But congrats on learning Max in 20days and making a car, pretty cool competition

I took a look at your gallery of pics, but I didn't vote for any of you, for several reasons :

- It's your first post here and it's a very short one : it is not really motivating for anyone to follow the link. At least, you should have posted here a picture from each model.

- Both cars doesn't look that great, and are really inaccurate. Of course, it's not big issue if it's your first CG car ever. And you didn't mention if it's your first 3D work. I understood it's your first work on 3DSMAX, but did you use another software before ? If it's your first try ever at 3D, I put my thumb up.

- One month is a really short time to learn from scratch a CG software and to complete a car. It's really a nice achievement to be able to do so. But it's also a time long enough to open a WIP thread here for each car, and to ask for comments / critics / advices on your work.

I wish both of you will continue into CG cars. Don't forget to post your future work as WIP here, no matter how skilled your are.

Regardless of post length or how many posts a user has made is no reason for not to vote, but its ok.

I agree with you about the inaccuracy, but then again it's our first time using the program. And yes, this is our first time using any 3D software.

In the future i'll post my work in the WIP, because we just barely started and we'll continue to pursue on making 3d models

I quote myself to be more clear : "If it's your first try ever at 3D, I put my thumb up."

What I meant in this case is, it's a good job for a first work in 3D. You've shown some serious motivation to be able to complete your project within a month.

About that post to be your first one, I wanted to get you to understand that you've to make your posts more attractive if you want some feedback : a picture of each model would have been a great addition.

Now go back to work, practice 3D as often you can and keep us updated of your progress !
