How hard would it be

How hard would it be to model the car pictured below? I've been wanted to do some of the characters from Cars in 3D. Get the view I need won't be a problem.

i don't think it would be substantially harder than a regular car. the detail level is low but there is the difficulty of modeling a mouth for it. if you can make a car, you can make a pixar car.

I agree with pedro and ibeam, the mesh should be the easy part. Even for the mouth, because you can use all the existing artwork as refpic : I mean, you don't have to design that idea.

But the tricky part is the texture IMHO. The right color palette, the right feeling within the eyes. Maybe I said just because I s**k at texturing

By the way, my elder son is a huge fan of that movie. I think that I would be his hero one more time if I start working on such a model. Pretty funny...

It is really more likely the lighting that will be the challenge as the car is also more of a character...

I can see this car more easily built and polished off in XSI...

I'm not too worried about the lighting or graphics. I just want the over all body design as I am going to do my own graphics for it. I'm working on a custom idea. I created the site below for all of the Cars diecast cars.

just a question, do you need permission from Disney/Pixar to use their characters and such on a public webpage?

Not in the sense that it's a fan site, but I do have permission from Disney.
