3D Studio Max 2009

Well it is released. Never knew about it untill SKB msged me and goes "WTF THERE IS A NEW 3D MAX!"

I did not beleve at first untill i went to discreet and saw it.

So i have the trial for now. It looks pretty much the same. A few new features and thats about it.
For those who use maya they have that viewport moving tool which you will love!

It also made exporting a lot easier. Especially for me when my clients need other formats other than .max

Overall I think they released 2008 to start selling it and 2009 is the final version of 2008. Thats just my thought though.

Now, lets hear ur thoughts!

yea, seen this a few weeks back when autodesk sent me an email. It seems that its getting similar to Maya.

Well after Autodesk bought out maya maybe they are trying to steal all the fundimentals so that 3D max can rule all? Who knows though, maya is pretty badass software its going to take more than just a viewport rotate tool to come in comparison.

Im using max 9 right now,i have to say it sok.I immediately turned off those annoying viewport cubes,but i think i found an error somehow when im going across viewports it always ends up in perspective and im not even rotating the view,gets kinda nnoying after a while.

Catlin - I also turned off the viewport things, they just get in my way and thats all they do. I got used to my shortcuts

vray is out - vray sp2 for 3dsmax 2009 - check it out..

lol...the perspective bug thing you can fix by disabling the viewport cube plugin file...heres the link on the Autodesk site on how to do it Autodesk - Autodesk 3ds Max Services & Support - Turning off SteeringWheels
