in your display tab, is shows whether your material is the wireframe colour or whether its a pre assigned colour. if its material, - go to the material you used and change the diffuse, if its the pre assigned, click that little coloured box, when you select the object, which says name and colour, change the colour in that.

Ok I just tried both suggestions and still no help, see I can change the wire frame to what ever color but once I select the object it turns red again. And then again I try to select a wire with edge tool and it stays red so it is very hard to see my selection.

Hmmm 73 views and only one response..
Does anyone else have any ideas? Maybe my color profile for my LCD monitor is fubar'd or something.. Or maybe I'm not getting what Crazy is trying to explain to me. Either way it's driving me nutZZZ! Is there a way to change the color of a selection of a individual line with in the customize tab somewhere? If needed I'll make a video showing the exact problem but I'm hoping not to go there. The material asigned to the mesh is red. That's all.
You must simply change the color of the object. Select it, and with the object selected, change the default color asigned to it, from red to the desired color. You can see the object color in the small color square button next to the object name (right panel) If by any chance you have a map asigned to the object, you can remove it. Go to the Utility panel (last top-right on the right tools panel), click the more button and select the "Remove UVW/Material" script. With the object selected, remove the material. You can set its color to grey if you like. Another chance is (as I can see from your picture you have your object already selected), that you have all the edges selected. Go to the Modify panel, and ensure your Edit Poly modifier (witch I suposse you have on top of the object stack) is selected on the top of the modifier and not in any of the sub-objetcs level (i.e: edges). Well everyone I have tried various things and I can't figure it out. I really appreciate your replies and help. So thank you again.
I changed my material to white and that in fact made the wires white as well, but it's when I select the object the whole thing turns red again and does not stay white. So then I go to select a single wire and it's the same red color which makes it impossible to see what is selected and what isn't. If i can make my selection a different color then I will be golden, but I have no idea on where that option my be. I'm just going to have to live with it until I get myself out of the noob state that I'm in and a bit more time under my belt. I'm not sure why when I install a program such as this it would start out like this. I guess I can try to reinstall it. Maybe I should try to find video tutorials on setting up max if there is such a thing. Man this sucks. Time to refill my rum and coke.. lol Last edited by steely : 05-18-2008 at 12:31 AM. |

Hey RedStar you don't need to go those lengths to figure this out, I was just trying to get some ideas off the top of your guys heads. I reverted back from 2009 to 2008 and all is bliss.
I'm going to reinstall 2009 later but for now I'll just work with 2008. Thanks again. ![]() |
