You, Summarised...

Name (just first): Chris

Alias: Icekid84 or IK84

Age: 24

Location: United States , Georgia

Qualifications (if any): N/A

Current Job: I work for a horrible, HORRIBLE place in retail. You might know of it... it's called BEST BUY. One recommendation for those interested in going there, DON’T. At least not the one I work at. Maybe others have better management... do I sound angry??... I think I need to stop talking about them now...

Like To Get To Know You Well...

What made you get into digital art? I got into 3d modeling back in, err… 1997 I guess. This was the time that Need For Speed 3 - Hot Pursuit came out. I was very interested in it. At the time, the only 3d modeling programs that one could use for this was Carcad. It was very simple and looking back from using max, it's almost barbaric by those standards. But it was the first program and it was the first stepping stones for me. Anyhow to answer the question, what got me into it was I wanted to build cars I LIKED for NFS3/4. It became very clear that a lot of the cars I liked just were not being built to my wants and standards.

What do you like most about this field? Well, this field is fun because you create things that didn’t exist before you came along. I’ve modeled a lot of cars and I’ve come to the point where I actually see blueprints as a hindrance rather than help. They are created by someone who you hope knew what the car was like in real life. Really, the only true source is pictures. As I’ve always said, "A picture never lies, it only manipulates the truth with perspective." I love that statement. I use it a lot, and its very true.

Explain what your current job entails and why you like it: My Current job entails customer Service or sales... and I don’t like it: P

What do you see yourself working as in 10 years? Who knows, I really don’t have any plans. I did 2 years at college and was going to do another 2 years for my bachelors but I wasn’t happy with the field of Graphic Design. So I really don’t know. If it were possible, I'd love to get into the professional field of modeling for a 3D company.

What is your dream company in this field that you would want to work for, and why? That is a question I really couldn’t answer. There are so many out there. I would just take the easy way out and say any company that wants to produce accurate, high-end cars. So many games are doing that; The PGR games, Gran Turismo... though I’ve heard they have gone to 3D scanning. Again, I really haven’t looked out there to see who does what I like.

-------------------------

Wrapping You Up...

What are your other hobbies/interests? Music is a big hobby of mine, and no, I don’t play... but I love music. I’m a big fan of 70s music (not disco btw). Things like Elton John, Beatles ( yeah, they are 60s), ELO, YES, etc, all great bands. It's very vast, but those are the ones I find myself listening to the most. Another hobby is jogging, and when I can, riding my bike at the local park with my Dad. Got to keep in shape.

And last but not least, since this is a 3D car-related forum, what is your dream car, and why? N/A
