The only exporter to rFactor I heard of is 3DS Max-based. So you have to have access to 3DS Max and export your model from Blender to Max, and then, export it to rFactor.

Converting to RFactor

Hi,

There is also another program called 3DSimed (don't have the link handy at the moment), which will convert between different game formats, with varying levels of success, apparently. It does support RFactor & GTR2 and imports/exports in 3ds format as well. Be warned though that I have read on some forums that there are sometimes problems with scaling and smoothing.

Hope this helps somewhat - there is some discussion on the NoGrip website of this subject, if you are interested.

Cheers,
Markd53

Simed will work, but it has a lot of limitations that you don't have using the 3ds max exporter. Mind you it only works with version 8 and earlier.

Hi,

The free webzine, Blender-dedicated, released today their 8th issue, about car modeling. Maybe of interest to anyone here, especially for Blender new users or people wanting to discover Blender or people looking for a sodtware which doesn't need a cracked or very expensive license
