Yes and No. If you look after it i.e. let it warm up before pushing it, regular oil changes, cool downs etc etc then you'll get a good 60k-80k miles out of it without problems. Too many people buy them and add exhausts/air filters etc without proper mapping and fueling and then it can go horribly wrong. The newer 99 spec plus ones had better electronics etc and seem to last longer, i've not had any problems yet, but i'm keeping it pretty much standard apart from a new ECU.
And if anyone needs any reference pics of an Rx7 if they're modelling this car i have plenty more at high resolution, so just ask ![]() Last edited by NightEye : 12-10-2007 at 03:27 AM. |

This is my car. it's just your ordinary Opel/Vauxhall Astra F from 1993. Has a very good shape (actually almost no rust, though it was used as a daily driver since '93, because it was my mum's car formerly) for it's age of almost 15 years and only 60 Hp, but enough to get it up to a decent 170kp/h top speed. Those pictures were taken just after finally getting my license on 21-9-2007, while driving home from munich after work and some sleep on 22-9-2007. I'm driving it for almost 3 months now, and had to fix two parts. First the rusty exhaust, which caused bad noise and replaced the battery, which died this week.

Well, unfortunately, after crashing the Megane, while looking for a nice french car to buy ( some newer laguna or c5) i sumbled across a car that was for sale across the street at a very low price.
Ford Mondeo 115 TDCI 2004 Haven`t really gotten used to driving a Ford, as i had never pictured myself in one, but it`s quite a nice car and until i go down the french road again, this will be my only means of transportation ![]() |

Fortunately, there is nothing unfortunate about driving the Mondeo. I drove the '02, the '04 and the '06 up until last year, and they are all brilliant machines. Although I like my current cars, which are both French, I wish I had stayed away from them. Granted, they can be fun, but no match for my previous Germans, let alone the overall quality. I honestly think you will come to love your Mondeo; if not more, then just as much as your Megane
Congrats with your acquisition, mate. |
