It reminds me of the 2005 Cobra Shelby Concept : http://www.cobrareplica.nl/images/Fo...-1600x1200.jpg

pablogrca showed here a real great model of it : http://www.smcars.net/forums/finishe...ighlight=cobra

Too bad they're still trying to mimic old glories instead of creating new ones. While it's really possible to create modern car that will be able to become legend : I think of the TVR Sagaris or the Porsche Carrera GT, for example. Really innovative shapes or technology or behavior or performance IMHO.

Currently project : Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster
Previous : Marcos 1800 GT (60's winner), Ariel Atom II (LightIsRight winner), SuperSeven (WZA #4)

I second that...its like they brought back the GT40 into the Ford GT a while back...

Anyways, on the car...the front reminds me of a Aston Martin Vanquish for some reason.

I don't mind at all that they are trying to mimic old shapes. In my opinion cars did look better before than today but of course there are some exceptions

Anyways I think that Reubens Cobra looks more better than the 2008 Cobra

I agree with you Johnas and that's the very problem I think : designers today are at least as capable as designers of 40 years ago, so why bother them with only doing "neoretro" work ?

A good example is a car I really love : the Marcos 1800 GT(http://www.redlinesportscars.com/ima...racerlarge.jpg) The brand tried recently to come back to the foreground, with the TSO (http://forum.avtoindex.com/foto/data..._tso_gtc_1.jpg) I think it was a really good design, and it was not exactly a cut'n'paste (bad luck, it was a missed attempt, the brand is now under bankruptcy )

So what ? What about a nice modern design ? If I spend 2 minutes to it, there is some nice cars that come to me, in recent history : Mercedes CLS, Aston DB9, Dodge Viper, Maserati GranTurismo, Lotus Elise... Really excellent cars, but will they last like the Cobra, the Seven or the Stratos ? We'll see in 30 years, so stay tuned

if you want to look at a good example of modern design i would recommend the Mazda Furai concept. it's simply mindblowing. it will only be a racecar but still, imo Mazda lately has been spinning off some astonishing shapes and lines.
