Is it just me or this getting boring now?
The Dodge Challenger concept and the Chevrolet Camaro Concept have been dangling in front of us for about two years now, maybe more. The thing is... Is it not a bit late to market?
Ford revitalised the Mustang badge back in 2003 and half a decade later we still don't have a road-ready Challenger or Camaro to match.
Add to that the fact Chevrolet might cut the engine list of the Camaro and include a turbo-charged 2l...
I mean, really... These are pretty cars, but the who retro is new thing has kinda' been murdered half a decade after Ford redid the Mustang. There's been a slew of rebirths, the latest being a re-hash of the Ford Capri.
Why are we still excited about cars promised years ago and delayed to much later when they're kinda' just rip offs of a good idea someone else had? This smacks of EA sequels being released annually, of a lack of inspiration and perhaps a need to market these vehicles due to financial crises.
Don't cry for my blood, I'm just expressing concern about the sincerity with which these 'new' models are developed.
For the record, that 5.7l Hemi engine in the Challenger SRT8 is not new. It's the same crate engine in MANY American models that all fall under the GM umbrella. I'm not impressed anymore.
