*chuckles*
Alright, don't kill me for saying this, but doesn't this car smack of a sort of totalitarian, German, very finely honed auto-manufacturer machine?
I'm speaking, of course, about Audi and their plan to be the premier auto-manufacturer of the German big 3 by 2015. As most of you will know Lamborghini is controlled by Audi right now. Audi is controlled by VW. VW is, as of about a month ago, owned by Porsche.
As was the case with the Veyron being a mish-mash of bits from the parts bin at VW, I think this one is too. quattro from Audi. DSG from VW. And probably the same chrome air vent trim that we've had since the Golf/Rabbit V.
I'm not saying it's a bad thing, and I think this car is brutally gorgeous. I bite the back of my hand everytime I see it and I'd love to see it in motion. But it doesn't look Italian. It doesn't look like a mad, outrageous, ridiculously fast Lamborghini... It looks like a pointy Audi. The LED treatment from the R8, probably the same underpinnings since it uses AWD.
I like how this car looks, but I feel it's a bit clinical in it's appearance. There's no waste, but that means there's so little flair and as a car it's wonderful, but as a Lamborghini... *shakes his head*
As an Audi it's stunning. But then I don't like the R8 much, mostly because of the fins below the lights at the front and back. Anyways, that's my two cents.
