I actually like it. City cars and superminis have always been strange looking due to the fact that the car has to be small, but the people in it are normal size, so proportions are going to be off. But, we need to get people out of too large cars in teh city and into superminis. One good way of doing that is make a few premium superminis to make it fashionable to be small.

The Aston concept is one of the best looking superminis ever made. All it needs is a tuner to come along and bulk up the drivetrain, kind of like what could be found in the Japanese kei cars for so long, with turbocharged, supercharged, 5 valve per cyl little pocket rocket engines.

Since this is initially going to be offered to other Aston owners, I can see it as a perfect second car for when your DB9 is too large to take into town.

I'd certainly rather have this than a Smart car for city use!

eh cars can be tiny and not look some sort of freakazoid smart fortwoish design.

For example:

1992 Mazda Autozam AZ-1

1991 Honda Beat

1995 Mazda MX-5 Miata

1992 Suzuki Alto Works

1983 Pontiac Fiero

Then again, looking at the year of these vehicles, perhaps this is why I think the 80's and 90's vehicles pwn the vehicles of today

That Suzuki just sucks >.> But yeah, there are a few subcompact cars that dont look too bad, but the majority just looks ugly as hell, that astion martin as well. Thats why I will NEVER buy one of them. I dont need a freaking small ugly car to have money. Sedan version of those cars are nice looking tho

OK, so I took a good long objective look at Aston's new design. After I puked and cleaned cleaned up the mess( I didn't make it the twenty feet to the bathroom ) I braved another long look. Yep, I puked again.
On the other hand (recently washed twice) I tried to think of ways to make this car more visually pleasing to anybody remotely human. I scaled down the gaping maw Aston is attempting to pass of as a grill. I scaled down the enormously over sized headlights. I changed the rediculious two piece a-post in to a one piece design. I moved the hood badge to the inside of the tailpipe and replaced it with the original Hyundai piece. I then put it on a flat bed hauler and took it to the local painters where I contracted them to paint realistic flames starting from the rocker panels directed up towards the Kia hipline. My Next mod involed putting "IT" back on the flatbed (you would never, ever, never see me in "IT") and going to the local wreckers where I would probably have to pay them to crush "IT" into a more estetically pleasing cube. No it dosen't end there. Next the cube would travel back to the Korean steel mill to be smelted down again. Yes you guessed it. The new steel would be turned into eyeglass frames for the design engineers whom obviously couldn't see what they were doing. Yes, yes, of course I would save a couple of pounds of the old steel and mold them into the balls the project manager didn't have. He/she should have just said; NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Almost none of those you posted are anywhere NEAR as small as a Smart or an iQ. The Autozam AZ-1 is the only kei class car there and it's not only tiny, it's hard to get in and out of being a small mid-engine sports car. the Suzuki is a kei sedan, but even it is longer than the Smart or iQ. ANY tiny city car or supermini based around a reasonable seating position for the occupants, with ease of ingress/egress as a design criteria will be any differnt than the iQ/Smart in basic proportions. Look at most of the japanese kei class cars as proof of that: they are small 2 box or one box designs by necessity.
