I also use C4D, it was easier to learn. Its what they say, interface is friendly. I don't know if 3DS is better then C4D, if you know how to model you can make perfect model in C4D just as you can make it in 3DS. And with combination with some good render program, ex. Maxwell render you can make nice real renders.
