Good old 80's

Hello everyone!

Me and Pans3r are hosting this competition because we wanna have fun. And why is it 80's? Because 70's were not good for motor industries and 60's cars BPs are hard to find.

The main rules:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

• Car has to be built between 1980 - 1990
• Car has to be a road car.(no racing cars allowed)
• You cant use older models.
• Car have to be made as it came out of the factory(original rims and etc.)
• Car has to be High-poly or mid-poly
• You dont have to do interior
• The deadline is 28.02.2008

Secondary rules:

• You can show your progress on forums but you have to add this to your topic name [Good old 80's]
• Please post the name of the car and a Real life pic here in this topic that you have chosen. So you prevent 2 indendical cars in the competition.

Nice idea of contest. I won't participate because of time.

I'm not sure you've made the right choice about the high poly only sentence. Of course, it's up to you to decide rules, but there's several talented low poly modelers here.

not quite sure I completely understand the first secondary rule... about the "You have to show atleast half made progress car in this topic from ur older models. That is to get this comp high quality"

Does that mean we have to show a car we've modeled in the past, in this thread? Is that supposed to be like a way to weed out 'lesser' competitors? Not sure that's even necessary, as that's what the contest itself is there to determine.

I just need to sift through my reference pictures after gathering some more of them, and find out what I actually have enough pictures to create a 3d car with...

If anyone is particularly attached to one of these, feel free to let me know.

I'd really like to join, but deadline is too soon for me. I'd suggest 28.2.2008 as deadline, so i could join too.

I recently left windows behind me (why? 'cause it's full of bugs) and now I need to learn new programs and how things basically work in Linux.
