We all love a bit of competition amongst fellow artists, and no-one loves it better than the users right here at SMC.
Now before you get all excited about creating a contest, there are a few things that which you need to know first. This 3-step guide will help you achieve a successful contest of your own. ------------------------- Step 1.) You're idea has to be an original. Once you think you've got the perfect contest combo, run it by one of our friendly Moderators, and they will give you approval to go ahead with it. If you don't recieve permission and post a contest without the go-ahead, it will be removed, you will be flagged, and your spotless alias will have a mark on them just big enough for our snipers to keep a close eye on... Step 2.) Once you've achieved approval of your contest, you will be asked to start the thread for it. This is where you provided the description of your contest idea, and key points that should include the following: - A start-date and an end-date. - Poly/tri-count (if any). - Texture limitations (if any). - How is the final entry submitted? This is usually some renders created and put together in a separate thread along with all the other entires for people to peruse. - Do the entries have to show Works In Progress? This is usually displayed in the correspdoning Contest's Work In Progress section of SMC for each individual with the subject line as <ContestName> - "<EntryName>". - Are older models allowed to be used? Or can the entry be made from scratch? - Are multiple entries allowed? - Are teams allowed? - Prizes? These can be rewards based on the SMC Points System. Moderators will help you sort this out. - Any other key notes that you think would involve your particular contest idea. Be sure that you write up your contest in an easy-to-read format and pay attention to spelliing and grammar. If English is not your strong point, simply ask your local friendly Moderator and they will help you out. Step 3.) Create within your contest a section where entries, and the entry name, are listed so people can keep track of who's in and who's not. ------------------------- Last but not least, if you create a contest, it is YOUR contest, so you are abliged to enter it. There's no fun in throwing challenges out to people just to watch unless you get dirty yourself!! ![]() ------------------------- Current Project: Pondering... ------------------------- Wheels: Watch this space... ![]() ------------------------- System/s: PC, Xbox 360 (XBL GT: DrFe3lgo0d), PlayStation Portable -------------------------
