Ask Any Racer, Any Real Racer...

...and they'll tell you that this particular SMCars.net Contest is asking you to do the following; Pick a car, or design your own, and tailor it towards a certain motorsport. That is it. We want this Contest kept simple to allow your imaginations to run wild and naked throughout SMC. We don't want them too wild and naked though, so the only limits are technology to the present day, so no light-speed hovering space jet-ski racers, mkay? Other than that, go for gold!!

Some examples of what we're looking for? A Lamborghini Countach modified to compete is the Paris-Dakar Rally, a Fiat 500 stripped and suped to race in the SuperGT leagues, a Honda Civic made to break the land-speed record... Getting the idea??

Contest Specifics...

- The modelling, texturing and rendering of one Real World Racer. Car meaning it must have 4 or more wheels, so no boats, bikes, aeroplanes, ect. This is Scratch Made CARS after all

- Model is to be created from scratch, with no use of existing elements of your old work or somebody else’s.

- Model poly/tri-counts can be anything; low-poly, mid-poly, high-poly, it doesn't matter. Technique should still be excercised depending on your choice, eg: poly-flow, topology, texture-sizes if your model could be for a game, ect.

- Model is to be shown in the RWR WIP section, with the heading "Real World Racer: *name of creation*", and kept up-to-date as much as possible.

- Completed models to be rendered into two main shots showing off the design at it's best angles. Studio renders would be fine, however creativity within renders is advised.

- No teaming up. This must be solely your own project.

The time by which you must have your creations finished and ready for judgement is the 14th of August. That's right, 2 months as of the opening of this thread. Prizes are as follows:

1st: Official SMC Gold Medal and a choice of a single die-cast model from Die-Cast Model Cars to the value of $100.
2nd: Official SMC Silver Medal
3rd: Official SMC Bronze Medal
