ok something a little different than the usaly contest type formate.

basicly, wat happeneing is there is a base model, a hood, and you will have a week (or mabye more becuse its the first time and to get everyone on the ball it might take a little longer) so you have a week to model the front bummper section of the car, on the bummper, than out of all the ppl who have modeled a bummper we will vote for the best one, then when the best one has been deciced the nest part to model will be the fenders, then doors, then roof, etc.

so the rules. i attached 2 differnt file types of the same object,


1st. becuase this is the first time i will allow ppl to modify my base model (only becuse its crap and it was a 2 second job) but once the front bummper is done there is no changing of the model.

2nd. you will have 5 days to model the next part. monday will be the start of the new part, adn friday will be the dead line for that part, saturday and sunday will be voting time. (because of the time difference between places we will have to work out wat time line we go on)

3rd. to be honest there are no more rule, or more will be made up as we go lol


ok so the file there is a .MAX file which is a MAX 9 file so if you have that there you go, other wise there is a .3DS file (symitry and a smooth modifier need to be added). if you dont have max and use another program, post here and mabye someone will be able to convert it for you.

and here is a render of the hood, like i said you cna change it a little, but the basic shape has to remian the same.



this contest is called the DIY contest, i will be opening a topic in this contest forum so you can post your renders of the front bummper and each other part.

This sounds like a cool idea!
Got a question about the first part: do you mean the whole front with grille, lights and all that or just the bumper on the bottom? I mean on some cars those are just one part, on others they're not, so I'm a bit confused.

@ Musclecarfreak, that was the idea, but seeing as its a conept type thing who is to say the front light need to be on the front bummper

If the lights are on the bumper should I make them too or not ?? Cause lights are other part of car, I think...

i figured that even if headlights are in the bumper, they are not part of the bumper so i left them out for now. maybe they could be incoorperated after the fenders are in place.
