1933 Duesenburg J

My first car. It was my 3rd assignment, Pre 1940s vehicle, for my first semester of college. Modeled in max, rendered with mental ray. There are so many things I would change, but I ran out of time and really just threw the final render together.

Excellent work, the clay shows well the level of details you've put into this beauty. The shaders are looking good, but the scene setup is too simple for such a good work.

By the way, welcome to SMCars, top work for a first post. I hope you enjoy your stay.

I know what you mean. I literally whipped that scene together and did the shaders an hour before it was due, and most of that time was spent rendering. I worked for 27 hours straight right up until I had to hand it in. I ran out of time and ended up leaving out a lot of details I planned on having.

But in the end I got 97%, so I guess my instructor liked it.

I would work on it more, but I'm on my Christmas break and just sick of it. haha

Just a small constructive issue: your car won't be able to go over bumps, since the wheels would immediately hit the fenders

The modelling looks great btw. Simple, but great. Now add some doors

Yeah, now that I check some of my reference photos, it should be a little higher. I just have them lined up with the blueprints, which I guess are a little off.

As for the doors.....NEVER!!!
I just have them bump mapped, I didn't have time to model them so I cheated.

Quite good. Some parts are missing, but I guess you can do them later.
