6.5 close enough?
its the only version of Maya i've used that doesn't crash with my ATI card
thank god for cheap student licencing

I also am using maya 6, i think its much harder to learn than 3dsmax!

I have had a look at maya. I find it quite difficult. Much more difficult than max.
