simple question ( i hope)

(3dsmax7) well when u select something then right click and click move, u know how u get those two arrows (3 in perspective view) that look like |_ to move it up and to the side? well i dont get those....and it pretty sucks....does anyone know how to fix it? or reselect whatever i unselected??? wuld be much appreciated!

I dont have max7 here, but in previous versions key "x" toggles indicators off and on.

In your keyboard there this signs -+ .
with them you can enlarge the moving tool or
make it smaller and even make it gone .

all the + and - do for me is make the x y thing get smaller and bigger....
