Maya 6

Sorry in advanced for posting about what has probobly been posted about before, my searches have only yielded broken links or lead to dead ends.

I just got Maya and what im looking to do is start modeling cars (obviously).
Ive never used this program or any other 3d modeling apps in my life and would like to know how to get started. Have not been able to find an easy to follow tutorial for noobs about how to set up my blueprints and start from their. Perferably Maya 6 tutorials. Thanks

(sorry if i failed to post this in the correct section as i am new to the forums)

Have you checked out 3dtotal.com? There's at least one tutorial that seemed ok as I quickly run through it, don't have maya tho, so don't know if its what you were looking for... A quick link to the tut is on the front page, you can't miss it

Thanks a lot, that does look like a great tutorial but in the very beginning it jumps the gun. This tutotial already assumes you know how to get the blueprints into maya and set up like he has them in the first picture, I am a complete noob :-( . Ive learned how to make the blueprints and learned how to get them into maya 6 and have each one as its section (like top to be top) but i do not know how to align them right.

I'm no maya user, but can't you just move them around til they correspond with eachother?

On another note, cars are quite difficult to model if your a total beginner.
I'd suggest trying out a few easy tutorials that teach you how the program works, then you can apply this to car modeling. Just my two cents
