Works for me too. A good thing to do is forget about the car itself for a couple of days, create a basic mesh representing a modern headlight and just start playing around with the settings. Copying off tutorials will teach you almost nothing. I consider myself a rather good modeler and i never did a single tutorial. Sure i learned the basics from the fiat500 tutorial but i started testing different ways myself.
