RAM

right as you all know, ive been talking about buying some ram to boost my comps power from the crappy 512 its got now,my question is this

can i put a stick of 1gb DDr in with my 512 DDR?

as long as there both "PC3200"

i was told once that you couldnt put a lower MB/GB stick of ram in with a higher one because it slows the fastest one down, but ive also been told as long as the "3200" (in this case) numbers match its ok

can any of you should some light as 1 an a half gig DDR is better than 1gb

Re: RAM

It's fine. Who ever fed you that line was lying. Difference in RAM stick sizes will not affect the speed. The speed of the RAM is the speed of the RAM. As long as they both match in speed you will be fine. Different size RAM only used to be a problem in older machines -- different sizes would prevent them from booting up.

Re: RAM

Yep, you will have a rounded total of 1.5GB of RAM, all running at the exact same speed.
