Low Poly modelling (for games?)

Hello,

I have done some modelling with commercial airplanes before(for Microsoft's Flight Sim), and I wanted to give car modelling for games a shot. Could anyone please explain to me the basics of it? Do you use one face of the cube and "extend" it to make the mesh?

By the way, I would be using 3dsmax

Thanks
-lg

Regards,

Well that cube method is one way to start. I usually make plane and start extruding edges from it to make the basic shape first. After that I'll start detach things and detailing. And finally mapping and texturing.
