Material: Aluminium-Alloy

Hi Guys, I was hoping that I posted this topic at correct place. If not, oh bummer! Anyway, recently few days ago I've completed modeled car rims. And was going to assign some alloy or aluminum-alike material and I end up with bad render with Mental Ray. I have done so manymodfication Material editor to get it right and it sure was so hard to create Aluminum/Alloy Material. I have also visited Neil Belivin's site yup great site but he uses brazil not MR. I have also created brushed metal material off from the site (I forgot who that guy was) but rendering with MR get rim to look Aweful. I have Googled up to see if anyone has brough up some tutorial on Alloy/Aluminum material unfortunetly I am getting no luck at it. So I am wondering if anyone know website tutorial or wouldn't mind share some advices, suggestion or,tip on creating Alloy/aluminun-alike material? my goal is to get this "blurry" reflection, less glossy off from HDRI, maybe add a little noisy to it. like this pix

Help from you is greatly appreciated.

Re: Material: Aluminium-Alloy

a nice and render time friendly way to fake blurry reflections is to use a very small copy of the original hdri bitmap (64x64 or 128x12.
use a noise map in diffuse slot, put a copy of it into bump slot.

highlight should cover a good area, strength to your likening.

i never rendered with metalray, but thats the way i would go in max default renderer.

real blurry reflections are a pain for render times, well at least for me and my slowly aging system
