Lightwave?

My friend offerd me his copy of lightwave for $40, is it any good ? i have not seen much of this program and no nothing about it, would it be worth the $40 to learn it?

I'm using a LightWave, it's most simple program for using

Light Wave 9.0...

I've tried the Max trial, didn't work out for me. Using LW for like.. a long time now, and it's simply the easiest to use programme with stunning results - if done well

What version of lightwave? For $40 I'd lean towards yes. Consider the fact version 9 retails for $795 . I really enjoy using Light Wave, its the first 3d app I've used. If you're looking to get into the 3d world I'd start with it. Rendering and Modeling are broken into two diffrent programs, its ALOT less cluttery. Plus Sub patching is a way of life for me . Very neet prog wish more ppl would take to it.
