HDRI/enviro map category? - SMCars

Ive spoken with a number of modeler buddies who all thought i should gie this a thought and ask away, i was wondering if, i dont know if the admins/mods here look through this forum, but if we could perhaps get an HDRI and environment map category, i know i could donate a few, personally, and im sure there are quite an abundance of collaborative resources among the community, if the admins are up for it, as i know the difficulties of finding these sort of things on our own, which are unusually scarce. anyway, just a thought. appologies if its been suggested.

That's a good idea, cuz I have a hard time finding HDRIs.

Its a nice idea indeed.

As long as no files from commercial HDRI collections shows up there. HDRI's are also pretty big files ... so it might be bad for the bandwidth ?

I'd kill for some good HDRI's and a few tut's on how to use them correctly

HDRI is image based lighting, works into reflections as well.. ya, they can get rather large.. well, perhaps a topic for them with linkage to galleries of em or whatever? I think anything to consolidate them would be beneficial for everyone here, i know i have trouble finding them, personally.

i got HDRI's over 60 meg's of HDRI's i will see of posting some up later on ethier today or 2morrow

That would be GREATLY appreciated. From what I've played with they are extremely useful in making good lighting in a scene fast. Only problem I've had so far is low res HDRI's I can't use in reflections.

well ig to some good news and i got some bad new good news is i got 26.2(64 Files) of HDRI maps and for the bad news well i can't post them all be of bandwidth so im gonna see ethier 2day or 2morrow or whenever my friend gets on i can set up a FTp for anyone who wants HDRI's
